Jordan Kiss is in eighth grade and attends Excelsior Co-op in Birmingham. He loves to read, which has contributed to his great vocabulary and spelling ability. He also enjoys playing soccer and his violin. He and his family are very thankful to have represented Alabama Homeschool students for this year’s spelling bee. He made it through four rounds, from 53 kids down to 18.

Homeschool Alabama Goes to Montgomery

It was a wonderful day at the Alabama state capitol on Thursday April 4, 2024. We are grateful to the over 200 people who joined us in celebrating homeschool freedom in Alabama. We had tours of the capitol building, legislative chambers, state auditor’s and state treasurer’s offices, as well as the First White House of the Confederacy. We ended the day at Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church. And a shout-out to our sponsors and those who donated time and talents:  Home School Legal Defense Association; Foursquare Church – Atlantic Division; Essential Church School; Daily Grace Academy Education and Consulting Services; Jamelia Owens.
